EMAsphere SA
Cookie policy
Last update : 15 February 2023

1. About this Policy

This Privacy Policy ("Privacy") sets out how EMAsphere ("EMAsphere") uses the personal data of anyone who visits our website at https://emasphere.com ("Website").

In accordance with the Act of 30 July 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data, and European Regulation 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data (GDPR), EMAsphere undertakes to respect the security, integrity and confidentiality of all your personal data.

In this Privacy Policy, we explain the technology we use, what we control, why we use it and your rights as regards the control of our use of it.

Please take a moment to read this Policy carefully.

2. How do we collect your personal data?

When you visit our Website, we collect your personal data using cookies (only if EMAsphere has obtained your consent). Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by website owners because they enable websites to run more smoothly and information to be transmitted more easily.

Cookies have many functions; for example, there are those that allow you to navigate easily between pages, those that store your preferences and those that improve the overall user experience. Cookies can also help ensure that the ads you see online are more relevant and in line with your interests.

3. How long do cookies last?

Cookies may remain on your computer or mobile device for varying periods of time. Some cookies are "session cookies", which means that they exist only when your browser is open and they are automatically deleted when you close your browser or exit the application. Other cookies are "persistent cookies"; these are used to store your usernames and passwords, and your contact details, meaning that you do not have to enter this information again when you next visit the Website.

4. What data do cookies collect?

There are two types of cookies depending on their origin:

First-party cookies are cookies created by the website you are viewing, in this case EMAsphere. These cookies collect behavioural data and declared data. Behavioural data are data relating to how long a user spends on a web page, which browser they use, and their activity on the pages they visit. Declared data are the user’s personal data, such as surname, first name and e-mail address. These data are collected when the user fills out a form. Both types of data are reserved exclusively for the owner of the website and are used to provide a personalised user experience.

Third-party cookies are cookies issued by third-party companies on the EMAsphere Website or other websites that you visit. These cookies are designed to analyse the websites that you visit and the searches that you perform in order to record your preferences and behaviour so as to offer you personalised ads.

5. What about other tracking technologies like web beacons?

Cookies are not the only way to identify or track visitors to a website. We may from time to time use other, similar technologies, such as web beacons (sometimes called "tracking pixels" or "invisible gifs"). These are small graphic files containing a unique identifier that allow us to know when someone has visited our Website or opened an e-mail we have sent that person. This allows us, for example, to monitor the traffic patterns of users from one page of our Website to another, to deliver or communicate with cookies, and to know if you are coming to our Website from an online advertisement or from a third-party Website. Web beacons allow us to improve the performance of our Website and measure the success of e-mail marketing campaigns. In many cases, these technologies depend on cookies to function properly. Therefore, rejecting cookies will prevent them from working as they should.

6. Why do we use cookies?

7. What about targeted advertising?

Third parties may place cookies on your computer or mobile device in order to show you adverts through our Website. These companies may use information about your visits to this Website and other ones to provide relevant ads offering you goods and services that may be of interest to you. They may also use technology that allows them to measure how effective the ads are. The information collected as part of this process does not allow us/them to identify your name, contact details or other personally identifiable information, unless you have given them permission.

8. How can I manage cookies?

You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. You can set your preferences by clicking on the appropriate opt-out links.

You can change the settings of your web browser so as to accept or reject cookies.
